আমার প্রিয় খাবার রসগুল্লা। এটি এক ধরণের ভারতীয় বা বাঙালি নাস্তা যা ময়দার বলের মতো আকার ধারণ করে। যতবার আমি এটি খাই আমি সেই দিনগুলির কথা স্মরণ করি যখন আমি জ্যাকসন হাইটসে ভ্রমণ করতাম এবং দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার খাবারের জন্য হাজার হাজার এবং হাজার হাজার মানুষ চারপাশে সমবেত হতাম এটি হোলি এবং রাম নবমীর মতো ছুটির স্মৃতিগুলোকে ছড়িয়ে দেবে যখন আমার পরিবার এবং আমি মন্দিরে যেতাম এবং খাবার পরিবেশন করার জন্য লাইনে দাঁড়ানো। আমার মা এখনও রসগুল্লাকে অন্য কারও মতো করে না এবং এটিকে সর্বদা হতে বোঝাতে বোঝাতে গোলাকার আকারে সূক্ষ্মভাবে আকার দেওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে নিখুঁত।
My favorite food is Rasgulla. This is a type of Indian or Bengali snack that is shaped like a dough ball. Every time I eat it I recall the days when I used to travel to Jackson Heights and watch as thousands and thousands of people would gather around for the delicacies of South Asia. It would also spark memories of holidays like Holi and Ram Navami when my family and I would go to the temple and scramble to get in line for food serving. My mother still makes Rasgulla like no one else and is perfect at delicately shaping it into the spherical shape that it's meant to always be.
